ARC
My Story
ARC was born from my own experience of stepping into the workplace for the first time.
When I said I wanted to apply for marketing graduate schemes, some people mentioned that there weren't many people who looked like me in those roles. I didn't really get what they meant at the time. But at my first assessment centre, it hit me. There were 8 of us in the room, and I was the only non white person. And when the interviewers walked in - 15 in total, every single one was white.
I was 20. It was my first real glimpse of how isolating it can feel when you don't see people who look like you, especially in spaces that can shape your future role. And when I started working, that feeling continued. Across the organisation, I saw very few ethnically diverse colleagues in the roles I hoped to grow into, and almost none in senior leadership. I also found that race was a topic that was often avoided and labelled "too complex" or "too uncomfortable".
But, I wanted to make a change. I wrote blogs, organised listening sessions and hosted panel discussions. Over the next five years, I chaired Race and Ethnicity networks at 2 FTSE100 companies, and I saw what happens when conversations about race are consistent and part of everyday culture. Ethnically diverse colleagues felt seen and white colleagues gained real understanding. I could see change happening.
That experience is what inspired me to create ARC.
ARC exists to make conversations about race a natural part of work life, so everyone can feel seen, belong and thrive.
Our Services
Race & Culture Panel Events
The challenge: Many leaders and employees aren’t sure how to begin conversations about race.
What we do: We design and facilitate interactive panel discussions where ethnically diverse colleagues share lived experiences, supported by cultural education. These sessions build understanding and make space for honest dialogue.
Listening Sessions
The challenge: Subtle biases and microaggressions often go unnoticed.
What we do: We run guided conversations where employees and leaders can safely share real experiences. These sessions reveal everyday barriers, giving leaders clear insight and practical, everyday actions to improve inclusion.
Leadership Coaching
The challenge: When leadership is predominantly white, ethnically diverse employees may feel that senior roles are out of reach.
What we do: We provide one-to-one or group coaching focused on building inclusive leadership skills, understanding systemic barriers, and creating transparent pathways for progression. This helps leaders build trust and ensure ethnically diverse employees feel seen and supported.
Colleague Network Design & Mentoring
The challenge: Many ethnically diverse employees lack spaces to connect and be heard.
What we do: We support organisations to create and sustain employee networks and mentoring programmes that provide community, development and voice. These structures help employees feel connected and valued.
